Ive searched the net from front to back and top to bottom, the only thing i got close to is a small switch i got from a scrap shop......I had to modify it to fit and it works ok. I do have some photos somewhere on this forum. If you need one, i have a spare, a bit fiddly but im sure you will make it fit.

Thanks MB,

I've been looking at some VZ's, but allot of them are TOTALLY missing the Button it's self and possibly the switch. Are these typically a weak link?

I wonder if Bredgeo could make the "Rocker Button"? :hmmm:

Thanks again for the info!

not really, the main problem is the top chrome switch, there is a small tin plate that holds the switch in place, it also acts like spring so the switch will return to its correct position after you switch it on and off. It get weaker as time goes on, all you have to do is take it off and bend the metal backwards, and you have another few years of it returning. the other problem with this switch is if your heavy handed with it, the two rocker pins snap if your not careful, but ive repaired one and it works ok.

The power switch (inside the unit) itself is pretty reliable, the only way to break it, is to reassemble the unit with it in place, the chrome ON OFF switch gets caught on the power switch and it breaks it....trust me, i did the exact same thing........i had to make up another switch, but then i got a switch off a guy who had stripped a VZ.

Another thing you could do is if its the main power switch that has broke, you could drill a hole in the back of the unit and fit a push type ON OFF button. I know its not the same but at least you will be able to get it running.....

ALL VERY GOOD ADVISE!

I have been looking at a few "Trashed" VZ's. Some would be good for parts, if the price was right (it's not!)

Thanks again for the info!

Has anyone found a proper power switch replacement for the original?

I just put an original working switch on eBay if you need one.

Item - 200630543386 (I just put this here rather than a link, so I don't break the auction code of conduct)

I pulled apart a VZ-2000X cos it arrived all smashed up in a box because a courier had dropped it (from about 10 ft by the look of it)

I would have offered it on here first but I don't have enough posts to go on the For Sale forum.

I did the same thing as Madbadger - broke a switch when re-assembling a VZ-2000 for the first time. I was lucky enough that it was a clean break and I glued it back up and it works fine.

Friendy.
