You know, I find it pathetic that they have to come up with a song to herd the "mindless black sheep" to give up info for the census. 
I had all the gov't interference I could handle while in the military. I asked for it then cause I volunteered, so I had no problem with it then.
This is almost as bad as the McDonald's commercial where a black woman (playing the role of Juliette) could be brought to her knees by the mere presence of a chicken sandwich.
So in the same vein, now to get my attention specifically, don't simply tell me how important youthink the census is...add a bassline and some chorus to get me to listen...
I don't care how jingly it is, it's a clear directed shot to a specific group. I say beg off to everyone the same way and don't insult my intelligence by feeling that you have to "market" specifically to "get those people to pay attention".

This is where the jellied brains of our society are developed. I mean, are women really helpless fools who can't handle a mop? Oh! We'll get them to buy Swiffers and fill up our landfills!!! And life will be so much easier!

It really runs across the board with me Ira. I'm just sick of how stupid our society is and the mere fact that we as a society have bought into this hype bugs me.
But...it's the racially targeted ad's that really grind my gears. Hell, as long as hispanics have lived in this country, there has been no mainstream marketing to them. Now Old ElPaso....OLD ELPASO...decides we'd better lt them know we make a taco. Have you seen this ad? It's an insult to their culture! I had a friend who was of pure Mexican descent and you know what he told me? "What the f*uck does Taco Bell have to do with real Mexican or "so called South of The Border" food." The best part was when his wife said "Don't run for the border, run away."
People can believe what they want. If you look at how the census is marketed, it's towards the poor, non-caucasian, or senior citizens. Why, because they are most dependent on the Government. Well, if Uncle Sam wants my help, he get's plenty enough already by raping my wallet. He damn sure won't rape my inteligence.
The Dumbing Down of America...No wonder were getting our brains asses kicked around the world...
