I'm not at all interested in hoarding these boxes 
, but a few weeks ago, I won a 1st edition Lasonic #3 on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT Unfortunately for me, the advice I gave the seller about how to pack this box wasn't heeded hours after I won it and it arrived... 
I wish I took pictures of the packing but I knew as soon as I saw the package - which was only slightly bigger than the Lasonic itself - and picked it up and heard what sounded like a baby's rattle toy, things weren't gonna end good! 
Opened it up and found it partially wrapped in one layer of bubble wrap, a clear trash bag and cushioned with more clear trash bags and a couple small sheets of big-bubbled bubble wrap... I could see the handle thru the trash bag resting against the inside of the cardboard box. 
The way it was packed, the box should've been externally damaged... Cosmetically, it still looks great but some of the insides are f*cked-up. You can see the damage here: http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z306 ... ed%20goods
If the tape decks worked before, they almost don't work now. I can't open the bottom cassette door without a screwdriver and the mechanism is stuck in the up position. Pushing a button pushes the entire deck inside. Still, it does fast forward and rewind but only if you hold the stop/eject button.
The other stuff I won't talk about 'cause the pictures explain all of that. What's funny is that the rest of the box works fine.
I think if I re-screwed the power button back in, that would work like it should 'cause it does work with a few tries. I'll set aside some time and try to fix whatever can be fixed...

1st edition Lasonic #4 arrived yesterday... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT I made it a point to tell the seller days BEFORE I even put a bid in for the box how I wanted it packed ('cause I knew I was gonna win it). Luckily, she listened and did what I said.
Packed like a pro would pack it? No, but good enough to get it here undamaged.

#3 (damaged) is on top. #2 (the one I've owned since 1988) is in the middle. #4 is on the bottom. #1 (not shown) has been in the boombox graveyard since 1988. :grim:
