I have to tell you all about a story of a morning with the old 1970' Impala 350 c.i. 2 barrel 2 speed Powerglide 4 door beater I had.
Bought this in late 85' for like $250.00.
Ran fine just a little weathered and a few scrapes, nothing real bad.

Well after a serious night of partying and staying att friends apt. I had to leave around 9;00 the next morning when I was straight enough to drive.
Well the tire was practically flat on the passenger front and guess what, the gas station there was no air so I had about 18 miles to get home, so I say go for it half flat or not!! :)
I'm going just fine down the freeway at about 55-60 and things start to sag up front right and it's warbling pretty good, did I care! No just keep it going,I wanted to get to my local gas station and put the spare on so I kept persevering!!(lol)
So I'm about 1/2 way land it's getting very almost violent up front there, even had to slow down to 35 or so!
Well the tire was starting to break good, actually got cut in half like a snake, whipping the side of the car violently!! I could see it coming above the hood at times!!! I'm thinking well I only have 4-5 miles-I'll make it!! Then the snake quit whipping and it got real smooth again so I said great, back up to 55-60!!(lol)!!! But I noticed there was some seriously tremendous sparks coming out of the side and back of the car and I'm digging a small trench on the freeway!!!(lmao)!!!! I get to the clover leaf and around I go first left is the Amoci station,I hit the small cement raise that goes USA you get off the road and I thought I hit a 7 ton brick !!!
Well the first thing I do is stop on the side by the air hose and the guys come out and said"I'm glad you could make it"!!!! I'm on the ground crying in tears I'm laughing so hard!!!!
The tire was strung under the car but did not resemble a tire at all just a large rubber snake and my wheel quit turning,it was worn down to a 1/2 moon!!!!' The frame was scraping but no real damage.
Some of the drum had to be re shaved and the front end remarkably didn't get ruined, just a almost worn out tie-rod end
Well about 45 minutes later they had the spare on and away I went!!!!!!!!! (Lmao)!!
I dint think I have ever laughed or had such a crazy fun ride in my life!!!
I was ready to go raise Hell again and the car was going nicely again!!!
I reccomend a 1970' Impala to everyone!!!
Very industrial,and yes it would do 120!! :) :)

So you're the guy in that video! :-)

It's funny to look back at the crazy **** you do in your youth. I don't even want to try and recall some of the dangerous stuff I used to get up to in the bad ol days - (incase the boys in blue are monitoring Boomboxery.com) :-)

P.S Your thread needs more pics!

The sad party is, you'd go to jail for a very long time for some of the "Simple Infractions" we pulled as kids.

Jeff,

I watched a buddy do something similar in a 1972 El Camino (got to love them Chevy's).

He left a part drunk at 3 am, drove on a flat across Los Angeles. Calls me the next morning asking me to help him change the tire.

I was able to successfully retrace his path all the way to his parking space at his apartment simply by following the TRENCH he left in the pavement!

When I got there, the rim was completely bashed in and wrapped around the brake disc. There was no removing it :w00t: We had to have it flat bedded over to a repair shop where they pulled the front suspension apart at the upper and lower ball joints to pull the spindle and disc brake along with the wheel off and then it was all blow torched apart.

I asked him, "Dude, didn't you notice the tire was flat?" he said "No it drove fine" FRIGGEN DRUNK!

OMG Chris that's crazy!!
I do want to note I actually was not drunk or impaired, just a bit cooky from the night before.
Oh that was fun, wasn't hardly anyone on the road, one guy or someone was like pointing when they drove by but I didn't really pay to much attention as the whole time I was like crying with laughter!!!! :)
