a suggestion for the boombox meetup

for those of us far far away souls do you think if some of you fellers have a laptop along with a webcam or better yet a couple of you guys with laptops could set up a skype feed of the event so others could take in some of the event.
i mean as long as you just left it open and people could pop in and say hello.
just a thought but i think that could be fun and cool .

Yeah, it would be fun if there were some way to virtually participate in the gathering. Some sort of live feed from the site would be nice.

I have a laptop and an aircard and a webcam and skype... can we feed that through this site somehow, rather than skype. I think we can only do one person at a time via skype?

I don't know about leaving it constantly open though... Aircards are great and all, but if I remember I had some trouble there last time. Plus, we may need some of that bandwidth for other things, like downloads and research.

Sure would be better if we could latch onto someone's wifi instead....

That would be a great idea! I mentioned doing this earlier in the planning section. I tried to find a WiFi connection last time but the ones that were open in range of the clubhouse were too far to maintain a solid connection.


I can check with Tony and see if they have a WiFi connection or even a cabled network (we'd have to extend some cable but hey) they would not mind us getting on.

you can set up conferences with skype and it shouldnt be too hard to do i think you just have to specifiy the kind of call you want to make.
if you guys are able to make it happen let me know. it would be really cool.

for starters most wear their pants way too low -
others have their flys wide open --
