so i went into the city on weekend. stopped at the usual recycle shops just on the chance id find something interesting, nothing!
untill i notice a second hand shop id never seen before. pulled off a blatant u-turn an headed back opposite direction. stop outside an head in for a look. not much interesting in front room, as soon as walk into next room look left an just there sitting on a chair all alone, silver Sharp GF700Z
go over pick up, dusty as hell, no aerial, open cassette door, wont shut, broken. missing fine tune dial. take to counter to see if works. all lights up, both decks working, volume/balance working perfect.
i missed out on wining a auction for a red 1 about a month ago so didnt think twice an took it.
got home had a good clean, pushed the dent out of speaker grill, did some super gluing of the cassette door hinge. found a slightly broken aerial off an old GF4646. works like new again. got few grazes/scratches but mostly great condition.
they also had a Sanyo C33 which i may make an offer on next time.
nice box
