Hey guys, just bought a GF-9595 from across the pond as part of a four box lot. It'll need gone through, cleaned, restored cosmetically but the 95 has always been one of my most wanted and I had to have it.

Upon looking at the listing pictures, and pictures online of common dented trim on this model across the front face and top control panel, the trim looks like actual brushed aluminum... Is this true? I'd like to know so I can look around and see if u can find some thin enough sheets to reproduce the trim somehow. It'll take a few weeks to get over here so I'd like to have things lined up. Thank you for any replies in advance 😊

Yeh Sharp often uses aluminium. They can often be replaced as it’s a common problem on boxes. Eric (Caution) is the man for replacement trim :-)

Alrighty, thanks Northerner 😁, I was wondering how I was gonna replicate all the cuts and indents across the panels 😂

Also, can anyone tell me if the H version (dark version) is black or some shade of dark brown like the Hitachi TRK-8200/8600? I can't really tell, it changes in different pictures it seems. I'm trying to do research on close matches so I can have the paint ready when it arrives 😂

Thanks 😁 it was tricky to figure out between different pics 😂 I have a few colors picked out that I hope are close, the black is easy (gonna try Rustoleum Protective enamel, in my experience with it, it's durable as hell) but the brown tone I'll have to compare colors when I get it in 😂

Good luck with it,they are kind of rare. You do need to put 2 AA batteries in it right away to get the LCD display to function.

Ive been reading up on them in the forum and watching videos and am so excited for its arrival. Been trying also to look into how to remove the "ghost images" or burn in the tuner, from the LCD being left on for long periods of time. Anyone have an idea on how to remedy that?

I have a 9595 that I probably will never get around to repairing - It needs a gear for reel drive & apart from very easy cosmetic repairs it could be made nice - It works fine but does need new capstan shaft rubber & the small gear to enable rewind function!!

I kind of lost interest as other temptations came my way.......Seems a shame to just leave it 3/4 repaired (It had a few issues electronically but all sorted now) I also painted the woofers with new white paint very badly!! They will need to be finished off too!

PM me if you're interested in it - as I said I doubt I will ever get round to finishing this beautiful machine off!!

Here she is:

For a color touch-up, I'm looking for the paint color code of the SHARP GF-9595H. A dark brown. Do any of you know it please?
