I haven't seen anyone here with images of what the Exos-9 really contains inside, but I've heard a few of you are curious. I like peeking inside and taking a look at what components lurk there, and the quality of those components. So I shall take partial credit.

I didn't get past the polyfill stuffing, cause I'm not really the kinda teenager to take stuff apart and see what's truly inside unless I wanna break something in the process. Plus there's already an FCC ID for the Exos-9. I didn't get to the Mids cause there's like, adhesive around the mounting holes and stuff, and I wouldn't want to damage the basket frame or cone trying to get it out cause I'm a clumsy slenderman. But I can assure you that they're indeed Neodymium.

Anyway, here's the link to that ****: https://fccid.io/2AERPEXOS9/Internal-Photos/Int-2659758

Nice magnets but Foam surrounds they'll never last. The foam gives you higher sensitivity but less serviceable life.

I gotcha. I have a pair of RCA 40-5004's with 5" Poly woofers with foam surrounds, and any of those minimus 7 lookalikes with foam surrounds are always either rotted or just about ready to rot. Mine need a refoam for sure.20200412_170904.jpg20200405_143130.jpg

Seems to me most foams last 20+ years unless you really abuse them or leave them outside or something like that. But I agree rubber would last longer and sound tighter.

Some foams just never disintegrate, like my 1996 Zenith (Lucky Goldstar OEM) SRW-711B bass module with a 6-½" Woofer inside a 4th order.

It does distort quite easily. Powered by a ST Sing TDA2030A class A/B Amplifier with an 80Hz low-pass filter and full-wave bridge rectifier.

Thanks for posting this. Listening to my EXOS9 right now. It's my favorite newer unit for sure next to my 10 year old Altec Lansing IMT800.

I enjoy my Exos 9 occassionally also. It has a great sound and the lithium battery lasts quite a while during normal listening volume. I also got the bag for it to keep the dust and dings away from the unit.

Hi. I hope you are still contributing to the forum. I need help on how to open the housing of my Exos. It seems like an impenetrable fortress.

All I need to do is get the part that the power adapter connects to back out of the housing. Wahhh! I want my baby to be alright! Pls help if still here? Anyone who knows how, pls help? Pulled off the grill and unscrewed the screws on speaker panel, but not getting all the screws out.
