A New Annoying Trend with Today's Music

I just have to get this off my chest because it annoys me sooo much!

More and more songs are starting to be produced in such a way where the "Bass" of the song has a muddy or slightly distorted sound to it so it can be detected on these stupid little "pill" speakers that can't produce proper lower frequencies.

If you haven't noticed this you will eventually on modern songs. Once you know it is there it is super annoying because it sounds just like you have a blown sub on a quality machine.

This younger generation...I just feel sad for those listening to their music on these tiny (yet expensive) cruddy sounding speakers. And what is sad about this whole thing is the songs are starting to be recorded so that they can sound as good as possible on these stupid tiny speakers.

Just awful and dreaded. I hope the sound industry makes it out of this slump before I die and gets back to quality again.

....Producers....Stop distorting and making the Bass of songs muddy so it can be picked up by these tiny little dumb worthless no count tiny speakers.

Ok. End of Rant. Thx

It's all about compression & maximum output - Couple these two factors with the horrid 'electro' style applied to many songs & it's a recipe for disaster :bang:

Agreed. A sad era. Cars fell into this category a while back in the 90's. Now finally you can buy a car that can meet emissions and still make power. Maybe music will do the same..hopefully.

The bad thing is once you record a song like this it's ruined for eternity. It's just like distortion on a cassette recording. Sounds bad at any level and you can't get rid of it once the damage is done.
