Hey thanks to everyone for the compliments! Its been a lot of fun(and a good time killer) seeking them out
and playing them over the years. The pioneers became an obsession after I got the first one. I have eight of them, six complete, two for parts. The large surface area of the woofers combined with the relatively high output of the amplifier make these units very potent! The woofers resonate hard around 30 - 40 hz for a very impressive (shock wave!)deep bass experience.
Hey Freddie, the big CK-11 amp is legal, in my head of course.
While ON the mains, I get 30 wrms per channel.
While OFF the mains, the upper amp still gets power from the battery pack on the tape deck, which gives me
something less than 12.5 wrms per channel. All you have to do is switch the speaker plugs on the back and off you
go. It does weigh a ton, but so does a Sony FH-7 with the optional(but incredibly impractical) EBP-78 dc unit.
