My wife and I went on a 5-night Royal Caribbean cruise to Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico.... I knew going into it there was not going to be a TV in the cabin and no way to play any music. Thankfully, I had the foresight to bring along my recently acquired Pioneer SK-200. I loaded up up with fresh C-cells as the SK-200 doesn't have standard AC power plug. On a whim, I checked my bag-o-tricks full of electronics adapters and found a 9V Proctor & Gamble DC adapter with the proper size plug that I believe came with a cordless phone or answering machine from an era gone by... I had to reverse the polarity of the the cable to make it work, but it did the trick and now I have wall power for that box. I was able to play tapes or run my wife's iPhone through the aux-in and at least had music of our choosing in our cabin.
If you've never been on a cruise, you owe it to yourself.... The food and vibe were awesome and it was most relaxing traveling ever! For our excursions, we went to two different Mayan ruin sites near the Belize border, and did some snorkeling and shopping in Cozumel.
