Maybe but he would have to sell each tape for about $100 to break even. What would you do with a $100 tape? For us folk with normal bank accounts I don't think we'd use it, we'd stare at it, pet it maybe even kiss it but not use it.

Yeah, maybe there's some profit motive happening here, but all I see is a couple of eBay freshmen going back-and-forth with each other. The big feedback bidders dropped out $300 ago. Take a hint, newbies!

Yea, I can't believe that price.... I'm thinking there must have been some shill bidding going on...
The thing about those higher end tapes out there, is that every time someone breaks the seal on one..... that's one less that's out there... Maybe the buyer was thinking investment??
Anyway.... I bought two very gently used Nakamichi ZX C-90's at goodwill a couple of months. Paid $0.50! I'm feeling real good about that now. They are the even more rare previous generation... Granted, they were used (had some Dolly Parton and some Kenny Rogers on them) but at least the J-cards were clean and the previous owner wrote the names of the artist in very light pencil, which did erase easily.
Maybe I should try to sell them for a couple of hundred...?

Supposedly, the Nak ZX tape stock is made by TDK, However, the tape stock was cherry-picked from the best production runs and they only used the center portion of the tape pancakes.
So, the Nak ZX is basically a re-branded MA-R (using the best of the best tape stock runs) and in a lower grade shell.
I gotta say, I love the MA-R, but the casing is overkill. Standard shell MA-X sounds just as good IMHO, and trust me when I tell you that I've listened to both tapes critically (yes, they were recorded identically) .
But for looks, you can't beat the hefty MA-R or the MA-XG!!!!
