So my good deal 777 came in. The packing was the worst I have ever seen. 1 wrap, yes. I wrap of bubble wrap and it bounced around in the box. But they bag taped the cord good. I hear broken pieces. I wonder what it is?
Separation on bottom of both front and back on the unit. Also...
The side is broken in pieces inside the unit. I powered up on tuner. Didn't check anything else. Should be a simple repair. It's always something. Be it packaging with damage. Someone not shipping the radio or just simply buying a item for good sound because it looks good and yet sounds like a piece of shiat 4 c battery radio. I'm near about to explode!

I sent him the info and pictures. Fact to me is the insurance might be void because of the packaging. I'd hate for the unit to be thrown in the garbage. The tuner played. The pots all such. Needs a serious cleaning. I can glue and bonds the hole maybe. Once I see how many pieces it is. So much for that good deal. If the seller offers some cash back I'll take it. I was looking forward to a project. But this wS not the idea I had. My allergies got me all screwed up right now. May open it up tonight and fiddle with it. The bagged cord was the laugh. So glad I didn't pay big coin.

At least the posts Aren't busted. Just hope once I open it that it's stable inside. Been wanting a burgundy paint job anyway

My message to seller
I am very disappointed to say the least. 1 wrap of bubble wrap and the double box with all the void space and yet the cord is taped in a bag?! Unit is separated on the bottom and the side is smashed! This is all a result of how it was packaged and insurance will do nothing about it. Because of how it was packed. I am not happy at all. I will have dismantle and attempt to bond the plastic together. I haven't even opened it yet to determine if the electronic board is cracked

Lol. His response.

hi,i don't understand how this happen.i pack always the same way electronics, bubble wrap, cardboard, bubble wrap and box.i write fragile all over ,what can i say truck run over?thanks

Connected line in. Barely works, wiggled the hell out of it and it kicks on. Deoxit is in serious need. Box open an looks intact except for floating plastic

Deoxit to the rescue. Line in very stong, good power and speakers in good shape. Piece the plastic pieces together and will glue up another day. Needs a good cleaning. The tuner is very weak. Not sure what to do with that yet. Looking forward to my primer black conion soon.
What do I clean and shine the dust caps with?

Damage looks very repairable fortunately!!!!
This topic is in the wrong section though.
Post this up in the restorations section, there will be
plenty of suggestions on how to repair the back casing!!!
For the chrome caps take a lightly dampened microfiber cloth
and VERY gently wipe the center caps in a circular pattern,
using care not to push them in!!!!
Good luck with the restore, should come out good

It Aint a Boombox If It Aint Got No Booms!!!!!!

MY TRC-931 IS NOW COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to the wonderful members here!!!!

That's very poor packaging! I've seen too many pictures of these units broken in the same spots during shipping..
Too bad it was the back cover that broke, I have an extra front cover for 777...
..keep it going full-steam! too sweet to be sour, too nice to be mean.. ( R.I.P-MCA )

I'll likely be able to gorilla glue the back together. It will be something to toy with over time to clean the best I can. The tuner I like to listen to news or am radio prior to leaving for work. Thankfully I have others to listen to as I go. Being I moved the thread. I'll ask if anyone ever have a wean turner and figured out a simple fix for it? Or if theirs a post of it on the forum. I love my 6 shirts by the way :-D

Use 2 part epoxy on the back casing. Gorilla glue alone won't cut it. I usually take a credit card type of plastic material and 2 part epoxy it to the inside of the casing to hold the parts together. Fortunately your back casing didn't shatter into a bunch of pieces and should be an easy fix.
You possibly have a few broken screw posts at the bottom as well?

Crappy!!! That really sucks. I'm glad the Panny I sent you arrived OK & it all worked out. I try to pack like it's Armageddon time.

I hope you can get it fixed up & the seller offers you a partial or full refund....On the other hand, this project would be perfect for the BOSE woofers you just got....would love to see it when you're done...

I'll likely use the Bose on the 1000 and just get more for this. May look into some infinity kappa for the 6400 : O

Oh Man, sorry to hear this. These BIG radio's get abused when not packaged right.

For some reason I can't see the pictures, but if the boys say it can be fixed...then I'm sure it can.

Best of luck!

That's an awful shame! But whatever happens with the seller, the fact is that there are people on this forum who've rebuilt boxes that were even more broken than that one so it can be done, just be sure to make it even stronger than it was when new, so that you can travel to the seller's home and bash him along the head with it!

Still a work in progress. Since I got it, I cleaned it up and did a simple glue job on it. Currently swapped 2 of the 4 speakers with 2ohm bose. Still towel wrapped and boxed in my radio closet until I can get back on track with it. The move from October to the new house to priority. I saw this cool table at sams club. Anyone have one of these? I did not buy it just yet.

Thank you. I actually did some more research and found this. I like how it has the bottom tray for my (boombox of the day jammer) area. It also has the light tucked up under the top area (which is included) Just doesnt come with the board pegs. I may carpet the top and bottom tray as well. Here's the kicker $99.00  Going to grab one after work today. Heres a link for anyone who may be interested as well. This store is all over.

I have searched high and low for blue replacement speakers for this 777. It has been a challenge. I finally found these.

Only to find out that they are 8ohms. No way will I install these. I love the look too.
So I continue on and I find these 3ohm items. http://www.amazon.com/Blaupunkt-6-5-Inch-260-Watt-Component-Speaker/dp/B006STN2GG#customerReviews
I may need to paint the dust caps blau blue.jpg
