747 & 767 on one take

Just got a Intersound J- 747 Super Jumbo and Sharp GF 767Z . 747 - bad tings - no Play button on first tape and no window cover on second tape door frame, no battery cover, and some static noise on standby. Good things - two aerials, both tapes working, fully working and flashing condition , not bad at all cosmetically too. 767 - overall beaten box. some problems with playing - must push play to sound any source (radio, aux and so) not workin tapes. missing one aerial other one in really bad shape. i think i know were is the problem with source selecting and so..... good thing - is a 767 with future .
the deal was- a friend of mine (wedding dj ) was willing to have some of my Pioneer cdj's but didnt have cash . so he found those 2 monsters for first payment . i was never after this two and probably will sell them. i need cash for 9696 and phil elephant which are my next "must have". so not sure but now blasting 747 and watching flashing lights

Thanks . ill keep the 767 but not really after those super jumbo's (if somebody offer me good deal its deffo goin ) . Can somebody tell me wats the deal with this "sensor security system "on superjumbo . Its switching on and off but moving the box and so on does nothing. When is it switched on nothing plays..... Thanks. Anyway im really happy with this score . and that in one day . The power transf of 747 is for change (making noise wen its switched off). And its playing all 60 min cassettes but struggling with 90 min (just chewed one ). Will crank it all night . the best part is - i wasnt planning those behemots....

Should work so. Box normal playing, pressing the sensor/alert button, box goes on "standby", ~ 1minute later the alert is activated.
Then if anybody comes close to the box, a awful siren should come up.

The power problem with the GF-767 (only sounds when play button is pushed) could be a faulty power switch. I know on my GF-777, the micro switch was working, but the contact between the two metal pieces was very minimal and the boombox wasn't allowing enough power to flow. I would check the power switch.

Pressing the PLAY button on the tape deck bypasses the power switch.

Thanks for the tip Fatdog . Im going to try restoring 767 thoroughly (have problem with tape doors as well). Not sure though how can fix the used buttons. I ve been thinking for some spray for headlights reflector or just make them all not shiny .

Hey Storm I have a complete tape deck section from a 777 if ya need it. Maybe a trade for the 747? Let me know.

Thanks. Still no time to start fixing it. But i doubt i need a complete tape section. the tapes are running now. Like Fatdog i think all problem is in the power switch. It was almost the same problem with my 515 (thanks to Badboybill for the tip). Will open it this weekend and will see. And im open for offers for 747 tough .
