So, My wife & I walked into this 2nd hand thrift store down the street from me for the first time. My wife spots this Boomer sitting behind the register where the Onwer was sitting, My Wife turns her head toward me, clenches her teeth and loudly whispers, "Adam.... looks what He's got behind the counter!!" I look, pick my eyes up off the floor, and put my Poker face on. I walk up to the Store's Owner.. He turned out to be a super dude. He welcomes Us and (B4 we can say anything) says, "Everything in the store is for sale". I ask him about the Sanyo, He said he bought it at a yard sale and hasn't even put it on the display floor yet. I ask how much? He says $35. We test the radio out. Everything but the cassette plays and has rusty battery coils. I offered him $25, He says.."Meet Me in the middle at $30. Deal! ;-) He even let me keep the AA battery he installed to test the digital clock   . It was dusty/dirty and I found a busted cassette belt dangling once I opened it up. The Tuner, FM & Tuner dial band lights all work great. It sounds better than I thought it would. Good bass and very clear highs. The VUs are working perfectly. There's some minor damage around the Right Tweeter area (possibly a fall) but, repairable. Overall, not a bad little find for $30. What'cha think?

Good for you.... that's a great box at a fantastic price.

I've got one up on ebay right now with opening bid of $75. Fully working, these are $150-$250 boxes (depending on cosmetics).

I live less than half a mile from him. Let Me know next time you're in town Brother. You can check out my Boomers and enjoy a brewski or two ;-)

jaetee,
I saw your auction on the Bay the other day and noticed that it says that it takes 6 D's.
It's actually a 8 D box.
3 more volts is a good thing.

Edit: Congrats on the box, Adam.
I've said it before: I love mine. :-D

Thanks for the heads up on that... I got it mixed up with the Aiwa TPR-950, which is about the same size and takes only 6 batts.
