Not always a great combination....

Anyone here with kids probably knows that feeling when they like to play with one of our radios. It's a sort of pride and joy feeling, that they both like music and these devices that most of our friends and family (and spouses) think were nuts for collecting.

Always awesome seeing them play with them.

Well... almost always. Last night I simply went to the restroom and come back to see my adorable daughter Natalie on a chair, fidgeting with my Trc-920. Looks over at me and says, "Daddy its not working."

Bad placement for this radio. I'd been using it a lot and let them mess with the switches and buttons whenever I'm there to supervise. This time she did it on her own.

Broke the tuner band switch I repaired a few years back... I couldn't help but let out a long "Noooooooooo!!!!". I felt bad cause while it wasn't loud or in and angry tone, it made Natalie feel as if she was in a lot of trouble. She wasn't at all. It was totally my fault leaving it where I did, and honestly I'm glad she didn't knock it off the shelf and onto herself or her younger sister.

So... now I have a switch to fix. Actually two...

The other week I was moving one of my 931's, and bumped the function switch on a box... it was in perfect shape but now just spins and spins...

Luckily I have a couple I bought from Trommel, but I was hoping to save them for my other 920 I was planning to do. Oh well. That's my story. Anybody else here have a similar story?

I will add... she broke it so its stuck in FM... and didnt break the Function switch, so I can still use Line in, and the Bluetooth I installed... but I actually listen to AM more than FM. Lol.

Oh, man. I know that feeling. I've had my GF-777 fall onto its face on a concrete floor. Luckily it wasn't too far off the ground to begin with, but that feeling of dread... it's real.

I'm glad the girls were not hurt.

Not 3-yr old and Lasonics but I had similar "sweet'n'sour" experience with a 4-yo buddy and 1/48 scale Spitfire from my collection. Two minutes, and landing gears were gone. We were still happy and were running around making cute buzzing sounds. Five more minutes and propeller was gone. Pilot was still happy but I had to promise to fix everything as soon as they land. Prop seemed to be of some importance for flying! Five min later stabilizer and one wing were gone, pilot in tears and me in trouble with the mommy! Go figure... Now I switched to jets, posed in-flight w landing gears retracted
