As a current freshman in college I absolutely hate people who have tiny little bluetooth speakers around blasting zero bass music so I picked these up after my summer job ended. They seemed classy.

The 935 has seen better days but the 975 looks decent except for the missing A-deck door.
Now all I gotta do is find a 951 hehe.

Are the 951's woofers mounted lower than the others? Looks like it in the photo

The cases are all the same, so the woofers are mounted in all the same spots as well. The grill and plastic ring would be what is throwing off how centered the speaker is. The 951 speaker cover has a taller/fatter lower lip which it looks like they didn't account for when they stamped the circular dent in the metal mesh.

Here are the 935 and 975 pictures at the same angle as the 951 shot above. Looks like the chrome bars across the 975 speakers are a little low from the center of the speakers. The 935 the speaker looks closer to the top of the grill mesh than at the bottom.

Are you sure the 935's speakers are towards the top? I'm looking at mine rn and it seems like they're centered decently.

I'm looking at the distance where the mesh is compared to the edge of the speaker. Bottom looks to have a bigger distance? Who knows. I don't care really.935.jpg

one thing I love about lasagnics they didn't put those big goofy looking feet on the bottom.

a good portion of the lasonic 935s came with foam over the speakers so you can't see them anyway.

that's a mean looking Boombox this might actually be one of the laSonic's rarest boomboxes. I don't think I've ever seen more than three or four of these in the whole time I've been collecting.
Wikiboombox also said that 951s were rare, but someone is currently trying to overprice sell one on eBay right now

were there any that didn't? as far as I know they all had foam and people would just remove them
yes there was a certain percentage of 935s that came with no foam over the speakers. it's fairly easy to modify them to take the foam out and make it look like it was never there.

Here's the foam removal process. First you have to cut off those 3 plastic legs, then you have to use a Dremel to round out the opening if you want the whole speaker to show, and then you have to use Goo Gone and a scraper to get that strip of glue off. It's hard work, and it's never perfect. You can always tell when someone did it.
