Today I arrived home to find 2 new boxes ! First is this Kingspoint RTR -007. It arrived in it's original box, original Styrofoam, plastic and with all it's original paperwork! I know it's not a grail but it's MINT!!!! I felt like I traveled in a time machine when I opened it. So so sweet. Plus I'm a sucker for a painted grill!!!!
Next up was a Lloyds PT 003:
Again not an extraordinary box by any means, but a great story in acquiring it. I found it on Ebay but it wasn't listed as a boombox or a ghettoblaster. I was the first bidder and got it for the opening bid. The day I won it, another one came up for sale and sold for 7 times what I paid for this! That was the good news. Now for the bad news the seller packed it terribly and a couple of the case mounts cracked by the time it arrived. Also, it was listed as only missing half of an antenna. However, neither of the tape decks were working when it arrived so I opened it up gave her a nice bath and dusting. I sprayed the switches with deoxit and closed her up. Now both tape decks play but only on dubbing speed? It is in very good shape and loud and actually has a pretty good sound so I'm optimistic I'll be able to get it up to speed! I'll post some good photos when I get some batteries for my camera.
