The first, a Realistic SRC-210 (should've been badged POS-210) for $5.75. Everything on it works properly, but the sound would give a statue a migraine. Lesson learned? Don't buy RS's lower-end products (which is most of them).
The second, a Panasonic RX-FW25 for $5.00. The right bay ate the first tape I put in it. Left bay works fine. Motor is quite noisy, and sounds like it's FFing all the time. Much better radio than the RS model. Lesson learned? Don't use a good tape when testing an unknown machine.
Overall lesson: I'm getting old, and get tired quickly from traipsing around the thrift shops.

Hey there OFAP, Welcome aboard...Yes the "hunt" can be tiring at times, but I enjoy it. Got any pics of your new thrift shop finds? We love pics.

Hey a find is a find, and prices were right anyway, and pics would be great!

One of my boxes arrived with a tape in it---Sting--
Since that tape was sort of a gift from the universe--it's become my test tape ----
