Heyya, =)
I know you're all bored to tears about my GF-777Z ramblings but I need to know some more about the speakers, hookups & amps. I'm hoping someone with knowledge of the drivers & wiring can help me answer some questions.
1. I've heard the inner 'super' woofers are 4-ohm, while the outer mid-woofers & tweeters, are 8-ohm, for each driver. Is that true?
2. Which drivers are wired to which amps(1/2/3/4) & what type of circuit is used?(series, paralell, stand-alone)?
3. Is there any kind of corssover betwen the outer woofers & tweeters? My guess is no. Possilby, the speakers rely on overlap & natural roll-off since the tweeters are cheap paper cones.
My theory is that the outer woofers & tweeters are 8-ohms each & wired in paralell, with no crossover & present a 4-ohm load the the outer 2 amp channels(L/R), while the inner L/R amp channels run the 2 center cones @ 4-ohms, each. Thus, you get a 4-ohm load on each of the four amps, while running 6 drivers, total. Is that right, or no?
