Hey all in the boombox brethren, not posted for a little while as ive been a bit busy but i have been lurking ;-)

Picked up some new units which im very pleased with, especially as a couple were local (ish) finds. Also as this is my 1000th post :-O and my 2nd anniversary of being a member (nearly :-D ) ive tried to make them some good ones

First is Gumtree find, i had to drive right through London to pick up this Crown 850, pause button is missing but deck dosnt work anyhow, rest of the unit is pretty good plus it has the biggest volume knob ever but it does need a clean. Well worth the petrol cost and sitting in the gridlock.

Second is an ebay purchase, nobody else seemed to want this little red QT27 so now its mine. its in good order, clean and working. Im starting to get into minis, there mostly cheaper, take up less space and look great.

Third up is another Gumtree find and a drive down to Southampton. This QT95 is in great condition, its packed with features and is in full working order, im really pleased with it as its the only box of this kind that i have, plus with line in and great sound this box is going to get some good use.

Last but not least was this ebay BIN, it was fairly cheap and won me over with its looks as soon as i saw it so i pulled the trigger. Its an Aiwa CS500, ive never seen or heard of one before so i no nothing about these and as it only arrived today im really yet to give it a proper test drive. It has some nice features such as double leds and line in but no seperate bass and treble. Maybe it was Aiwas rivel to that 4 speaker mini that sanyo did? It does have issues, the deck dosnt work yet theres a motor permenant running inside??? and it really needs a good strip down just to give it a thorough clean. Well pleased with it.

And the obligatory group shot....

if the motor on the aiwa runs but the deck don't work it's because the belts are gone ,most of the full logic decks do this even the m90 the bad thing is the longer you have it on without the belts the more chances you will burn out the deck motor or the resistors that control the motor.

Hey guys thanks for all the feedback.
That Aiwa purchase was one of those BINs where i didint even really read the description, just pulled the damn trigger.

Floyd, thanks for that info mate, ive taken the back of and its pretty busy in there. As much as i like this one i think, for now, its going to just sit on the shelf and look pretty :smooch:

There is probably a thread on this somewhere or I could google it, but was Crown a brand in Europe? I don't remember it here in the U.S.

STUNNING!its a real nice collection you have there-favourite has to be the aiwa-the motor sticking on to me means that part of the deck inside is stuck in play-if you went inside you might be able to free it off somehow-but do it soon as as you dont want the motor to burn out :-/
great collection though, and enjoy them to the max
