What's that component?

Hello, just wondering if someone knows the name of the component circle in red, found in the tuner board.
Thanks!1000026856.jpg

The one labelled tc-2? That's a variable capacitor. Normally these are part of the big polyvaricon tuning capacitor. Little trimmer caps to adjust antenna tuning or tuning range on the dial.

Thanks for your fast reply!
Do they have a value? I'm in need of replacing one of them which broke off while I was trying adjusting the antenna tuning, as you said, and I was wondering if I can use the MW or the SW one found on the same board, because I don't really care about those bands.
Otherwise how can I replace it? I guess they are out of production...

Trimmer capacitors are widely available - they're still used !
so for FM you're probably looking at one in the range 0-38pF or something like that. The ones from the AM & shortwave section you're eyeing up will probably be only 0-20 pF roughly speaking, so i would buy a new one in spec from ebay.
Of course if you really don't want to spend any money you could remove both the AM and shortwave trimcaps and wire them in parallel to reach the 40pF mark, but then you'd have two adjustable screws...
Edit: i don't think these specs are hard n fast rules - you could try just one of those 'spare' trimcaps....might do the job.

Yes, I thought they are still available, only I was wondering if they will fit the holes in the board... But maybe I'm just overthinking it, I may be able to adapt the pin legs somehow!
Anyway thanks again for the info, very helpful!
