VZ3500 What speakers to use

Hi i got a sharp vz 3500 free from my dad it came with the original speakers, the foam surround was rotted with age. I tested the speakers on an onkyo receiver amp as i know it sounds decent enough ,the original speaker drivers are awful sounding tweeters are ok due to the foam surrounds and the fact i like to keep the original speakers as they match the unit i upgraded the cabinets with new drivers ,these being 6.5 inch 4 ohm ground zero car component speakers as i had removed them from the car ,the standard head unit never had much power so swapped them till i changed the head unit ,as i had them at my flat i decided to try them i added two more lots of acoustic wadding from junk speakers and sealed the bass port ,not only do they now sound a 100 times better but they look better as the cones are silver.I am highly pleased with the results, the only thing is these speakers were nearly half the price they are now they now retail for around the £64 mark.https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/9544_10206653498194223_2251547090121842393_n.jpg?oh=8751a721c530a537cb698bece5084dfe&oe=5702AF13

My only problem now is the sharp amp only gets audio from the left speaker and very faint sound from the right s more work needed on the unit .

You need to clean all those push in type of switches on the top of the unit (phono/tape/aux/FM stereo /FM/AM- function switches) really good with Deoxit. That will fix the problem! Over these years the switch contacts gets oxidized and don't work well. You can see them right about above the tuning wheel and LEDs. Those with white heads. They are spring loaded and squirt the contact cleaner Deoxit inside the center of the spring coils so it reaches the switch contacts. After spraying with Deoxit press each switch a minimum of 30 times.

Clean the volume control slide switch also.
