Hi got this off a friend who had left it in a bad way. I have given it a thorough clean , changed the belt, cleaned the heads with alcohol, I like the way the autoreverse works, very clever the way the head changes over. Has a really nice crisp natural sound to it, one of the best looking BB I have seen . I Had the sharp GF 525 & Hitachi 3d woofer BB back in the day., This Toshiba all works very well and has cleaned up well, But does not record?? Have tried several tapes with cassette record tab covered overI have tried the inbuilt mics , and also to record off the radio but to no avail. Any advice, suggestions thanks

If it's not recording anything, not even silence, then the bracket attaching the record button on the deck to the long switch bar on the board may not be in place properly or missing.
