Sony CFS-99 Disassembly help

Hello guys!

Just picked up a CFS-99 on the cheap that desperately needs to be opened up cleaned and repaired. I don't want to break anything in doing so.

Obviously the screws in the back need to come out, but do I need to pry off the volume and balance sliders (etc) too? Any other tips with this box would be appreciated.

Well, nevermind. That was easy, love the design of this thing. screws in back to remove unpluggable speakers. screws on top of panel to remove panel.

Removing the guts looks slightly more complicated will visit this later.

are the sliders like the cfs-77? it is really easy to take apart a 77.. the sliders stay on the casing.

yes all the sliders stay on the top casing
the little sliders on the bottom of the top panel
are very easy to break be care full of them
if they are not already broken
most of the guts come out with connectors
there are only one or 2 wires that need un soldering
