Simply taking a compressed to MP3 track and putting it on vinyl doesn't do it for me.
Also pretty pointless as well. Many in the snowflake generation may think it's a pretty cool 'retro' idea but they'll get the whole vinyl thing anyway. It's all rather sad really. :-/

Snowflakes kept vinyl going for a while now . Here’s a shot from 2014 from the last record I worked on that got pressed on vinyl . Lol the idea all new music is shite is pretty ridiculous. So is the idea that younger people have no idea about old processes and that “quality” of times gone by .
Man it pisses me off when some calcified asshats shoot shite about younger people .
I’m in my mid fifties and I’d rather jump off a freaking bridge than work with someone who’s mind is trapped by some false beliefs about what people think that are younger than them.
When my friend here works so hard and you know she has the respect and cred of people from my generation who are artists that released albums “back in the day “.
So ya what ever makes you feel better about yourselves I guess but this blinder tunnel vision is freaking one of the reasons I don’t post here anymore.
Please give me a freaking break. We release cassettes because of the love of the era and it’s memories. Same as vinyl records . Do you even freaking understand how hard that is today. Seriously

What the hell have you released in the last ten years if ever

Dear me, if you're trying to give me a hard time I suggest you re-read you're own post first, you've made more false assumptions that all you imagine you may have read in this entire thread.

Also, it's nice to see you are still making music, do you have any music or samples online I can listen to?

I call it the mid life crisis sales surge being that not too many young UN's own tape decks lol.
Either way I wouldn't care if merlin the magician was making the tapes as long as their being made.
I have no problem with the younger generation contributions but you have to admit their not going to camp out at best buy just to buy records and tapes , it be like one of us lining up to buy a Victrola.

About the only thing that is marketed towards our generation I's Viagra and depends so I guess we should feel honored lol.

I apologize here if I stepped on some toes. It's the internet, people tend to voice their OPINIONS a lot more with boastfulness, assurance and may come off as know it all and cockiness. I have been the lone pilot of my DJ business since 1988, I was 21, and started off with a Fisher Component MC-4040 with a BSR record changer..... google an image. I finally graduated to two Technics 1200s and Numark mixer and EV speakers in 1998. I never never left the vinyl format. Ever. I trudged thru the early 2000s which was the lowest, lowest point in vinyl production. Everyone was doing the lime wire, napster, MP3 ripping everywhere! I got made fun of, carrying my boxes of 45s to my gigs, but I stood by them, praised the superior power of analog/ vinyl.
Fast forward to 2019. I am at my 31 st year with my Technics still spinning strong with little to no maintenance, and now I am " cool" again. Hilarious! I have been collecting records since I was in kindergarten in 1972. People love my dances, car shows, they know my system rocks, and know me as the "45 Guy". I have a station in my area (local FM independent) I listen to and they introduce new budding artists that corporate FM will not or cannot play. Some is ok, most is bland as a rice cake sitting in the sun. There is no life to today's music, it's generic, no thinking outside the box, no genre placement, boring, or is a remake of a great tune from the 70s or 80s, and they completely destroy it! Now THAT pisses me off. I do not normally rant or give my opinions very often, but when I have experience in all walks of life of people, demographics, age, etc, I will voice my personal experiences that the millennial generation will need to step it up quite a bit to keep the world surviving into the future, because they surely will never measure up to the Classic generation ( pre baby boomers). So again, I am sorry if I offended anybody here. Move forward, and enjoy the analog experience!

I feel sure that the fact of new LP's being released has been mentioned before on the forum and I've also read of this. The thing that I remember most when I first came across this a few short years ago was that some of the new vinyl pressings were being made from digital 'originals' which concerned me - especially when I saw a 're-released' Bill Haley LP pressed from an 'original digital recording'! :hmmm:
probably just mp3's pressed to Lp lol
Yes, this is bothersome. But I'm not a fan of the whole REMASTERING thing. Original mixes of tapes, LP's and even CD's are highly sought after.

Simply taking a compressed to MP3 track and putting it on vinyl doesn't do it for me.

same here bro, also i don't collect lp's anyway, i don't have the room...a good mp3 is passable but i rather flac in that case....

and i wont pay for digital downloads ether....that is just a huge con imho

I'd love to see the numbers of how much vinyl sold these days is actually listened to. I'd wager more than half is just displayed on walls.

Getting back to cassettes, theres been quite a bit of cassette production going in niche little music scenes. I'd been doing a site for about five years covering 80s inspired synth music (they call it 'synthwave' mainly these days) and it's all about 80s nostalgia done by a younger generation mostly who romanticise the era.
There's been a lot of releases on cassette in small amounts, and they continue to do so. Again, haha, I'm not sure how many bought are being listened to or just collected. The bigger producers in the scene are now migrating to regular vinyl releases.

I honestly don't see cassettes coming back like vinyl has, but it's nice there's a bit of positivity around the format for a change instead of the 'poor quality/chewed tape' mentality that's been more pervasive.

Oh, and the real cultural significance of the cassette format took place a few years ago in the vaporwave scene. This now has a rabid fanbase and early vaporwave releases (we're only talking 2010 or so) are highly desirable. I sold 3 cassettes for $1500 last year I'd bought for a few bucks a piece when they came out as new releases. It's funny how things happen in these odd little corners of music genres online these days.

Rock On.

My 70's, 80's, 90's prerecorded sound fantastic. Might have a straggler that isn't up to par, but for the most part a good refurb Nak, Aiwa, or any decent deck gonna do it's job. I can find everything on tape that I cannot find or afford on LP. Are tapes making a comeback, bet your ass, my tape collection median's out on discog for $3g's. I enjoy cassettes when I don't feel like babying or maintaining vinyl for the night.
