After my Panasonic of 35 years died on me, I got this one for cheap to repair. It powered on but sound only on Left channel and auto reverse not working.

Ended up that, at some point in its life, batteries were left inside and leaked. The corrosive outgasing from the Alkaline batteries found its way onto the circuit board and severed a few traces.

With the assistance of a magnifying glass and a flashlight, along with a signal tracer, I found the bad connection at a tiny resistor. I reflowed the connection after removing all corrosion and that brought back the Right channel. Next I replaced the belt and dialed in the motor speed.

This Sony sounds incredible for a low end model and is now my daily driver.
