Hi!

I have been restoring my last find, and almost at the end, noticed that the outer part of the speaker membrane is torn at the fold. The torn is slight, and probably not so old. Probably it was there before, and I have just excarberated it while cleansing the membrane.
So, let me ask you, how do you repair torn speaker membrane?

Do you use toilet tissue and glue/nail polish?
Some other method?
Do you replace the speaker alltogether with old one or find new replacement?
(I admit, I prefer Pioneer car spekaers!).

Elmer's glue all works great on paper speaker cones and the surrounds . the best way to do it is to apply the glue with a small brush ,then use a pencil or long pointy object to align the tear and once your satisfied let it dry. In most cases its a simple repair. Use the glue sparingly and be sure to apply to both mating surfaces.
