Hello there -- has anyone any tips on how to re-belt the cassette on a VZ -2500?
Is it a case of taking off the motor? Any thoughts, links or warnings much appreciated!
Thanks W&F

Extreme caution while dismantling not to damage the turntable stylus and other moving parts.
There will be a small belt for stylus pulse advance motor, and it is good to replace that belt also this time. So also the cassette belts.

1 remove back case screws.
2 remove the slider tips and open the cassette door.
3 push open on the turntable door just to open it enough to keep it from binding up when you pull the front case off.
4 pull front case off.
There are no wires or connections to worry about because the connections are made by built in connectors that simply slide in place when you push the front onto the boombox.

Also keep in mind if you want to work on the turntable as well the unit has a cut off switch on the bottom of the boombox that prevents the record player from working while it's being carried. It's a black square on the bottom right corner underneath the boombox and the record player won't work unless this switch is pushed in . it's usually pushed in automatically when the boombox is on a flat surface.
