you probably have seen my post about the resurrection of my Philips 70CD555. It contains the Philips SER1 tape mechanism. Quite a nice mechanism.
I have four of these Sound Machines and one of them has problems with the "Soft Eject" function. I thought this might be a kind of grease or something which slows down the door but it looks more like a glue which stays liquid. Over the years it leaks and the lid is opening too fast.
Absolutely no idea what material this is? I tried some grease but without success. Maybe anyone has an idea what to search for and/or what to order?
