This box will never be a grail, i know.
But a very good basis to make some nice modifications. :-D

Or would you make some holes in a grail? :-P

mounting

done

Hm, think i need some discolites on it... :hmmm: :w00t:
Will part out a broken VIRA boombox soon, adding the lights on this one.

making 4 holes in the bottom for the chrome LEDs
here comes a discolite

soldering the supra LEDs

away with the mics.
No need for them
Implant the supra LEDs and connect to the speakers

first test
like when KITT is speaking

togehter again

Now i must built the discolite generator :super:

Wow! I love the way how you exaggerate almost everything on this originally quite dull boombox. I have a question on LEDs. Which one did you use? And it's possible just to solder them to speaker pins (without any resistors and so on)? And how do they behave when the box makes some boom?
Great approach, really!

Hi Stepaan
As you can see i simply soldered it to the speaker pins.
Some old discolite boxes (the cheap ones) also did so.
I used some supra-LEDs (extra bright ones, avaiable in different colors and sizes).

You must also look about the voltage range, there exist some different versions.
Flashing begins at medium volume.

For prevend blowing the LEDs (if you like it very loud), you can add a small resistor. :-)
