National 7200 vu led

Seems like there is no schematic?
Anyone know the bulb and switch section?
I placed a led in replacing the dead one the previos owner put in but it seems to have dimmed and the on/off for the light doesn’t work.
What to look out for?

Replaced LED died.
Has anyone updated theirs with an LED mod?
If so please help.

I've never done that upgrade! The one it got is bright on one side of the VU and faded on the other end. Seems like it is a bulb that is mounted on one side of the VU. The inside is all packed and looks very sophisticated. One member here has worked on it and is very knowledgeable and may be he can chime in and give some details on the LED upgrade.

maybe try a voltage divider to protect overvoltage on the led?
