Nice Fisher system
I just found a Fisher amp for free part of a stack
was one I was looking for
because it has a very large power transformer for a stack system.

that FM 270 Tuner Is Really Good
It Picks up more stations then my pioneer sx 1280

also does anyone know where I can find a speaker relay for my Fisher CA 283

Yes that was one of the reasons I got it back in the 80's as well as price. Most systems were over a grand and I think mine was in neighborhood of $700 with rack :-)

how are the tweeters & midranges in your ST 828's
I have two pairs of the ST 832's and the mids & tweets in them are not very loud it's mostly just bass so I ordered some new ones off of parts express

I also have the ST 840's With the Super Tweeter and they sound pretty good
and I have some STV 880's that Sound Good

I also have the Same Turntable you have MT-728 but sometimes when you play a record it plays slow
and when you take the platter off and move the motor shaft & put the platter back on it will play fine most of the time
so I'm guessing it's it motor but I'm not really sure

I have two MT 728's and the other one plays Great I Also tried swapping the belts but it did not make a difference

oh I guess it's just the ST 832's then that are just not that great

I just love these old Fisher systems from the 80's

& I was wondering if the motor can be fixed in the turntable.
I guess that is a common problem with motors in tape decks & turntables
it plays slow at first & then plays at normal speed

It might be something else. Most motors have an adjustable resistor for speed and many times it goes bad or might even just be diety

oh I did not know that
I did take it apart before and changed the cap on the motor board to see if it would make a difference but it did not
I guess that resistor thing can be adjusted with a screwdriver? or maybe I can clean it

I cleaned the adjustable resistors with some radio shack cleaner & that seemed to work
thanks for your help

does the tape monitor button on yours stay on all the time when you change inputs or do you have to press it each time you change inputs for the equalizer

my Fisher MT-728 turntable is still playing at the wrong speed.
i tried changing the adjustable resistors & it seemed like it worked at first but then started playing a little to fast on both 33 & 45 speed. so it was doing the same thing as the old adjustable resistors did so it must be something else

could it be a resistor? or the IC, or the motor
also there is a red thing on the board with blue legs i don't know what that is
