Funny Eric tossed this in. Whe I initialy retested the unit after resoldering the jack I thought I lost the channel due to you guessedit. The radio selector. I touched it and the speaker crackled........But I just grinned and gave small squirts of deoxit and what do you know. It helped MY problem as well. I say this because I had focused on the jack which was an oblivious failed problem and did not take into consideration all the other sliders. So when I reassembled it I had inadvertently moved it causing an added problem...
So lesson learned anything in these boxes can give you similar problems. I wont overlook them again............
