Lets talk volume. What is the loudest boombox you have cranked or heard?

1. Loudest Bass? (AC and/or BAT)
2. Highest Volume overall? (AC and/or BAT)

AC or Batteries?

I'll start:

1. Sharp GF-575 or Hitachi 3D80
Probably GF-575, but mine has unmatched speakers so other speaker lacks bass big time.

2. Palladium 872/075
Has huge volume capacity on AC, wont distort at all but lacks bass.

My custom "Louder Blaster" project is by far the loudest radio I have. It's based on the GPX 990

Of what I own these are my top 5, they go in this order:

1) GPX 990
2) 777z
3) M70
4) TRC-935
5) TRC-920

could one simply replace the stock speakers with current technology speakers, thus getting better/louder sound out of their old boomboxes??

I was very impressed with my Philips D8614  My neighbour wasn't so  If you tweak the bass and treble it goes VERY loud in terms of clear volume :w00t:

The loudest box I have heard with batteries, with undistorted sound is the National RX-A5. It is a 3-piece unit that you can't really carry, but for an outdoor bbq the ultimate outdoor boombox.
The loudest 1 piece regardless of clarity is the C100. The loudest with clear sound is the M90.
The loudest box on ac is the FH207...mounds of bass and volume to crush even a C100, and full clarity even at max volume!

Cheers.

Kabooms/Boomblastes (the name which they are using over here) if we talk pure loudness and deep bass . Even the small one kick easy all others. Outdoor on batteries can be heard from a few blocks :breakdance: .
Hope to catch soon one DP 200 too :-D

I'd put my Sony FH-808R up, it's pretty extreme but is only AC so not sure if it really counts. Anyone in Melbourne who wants to challenge are welcome to take on my Super Acoustic Turbo APM's.
