By pure coincidence some months ago i got a 6100 turntable from marantz and a 2215B Radio Receiver also from marantz.
Now I am looking to make 1970s corner in my place and would love to purchase a tape deck from that era
maybe a 5220 by marantz too. Anyone that can suggest me anything for that matter it would be highly appreciated !

Docs thanks for the answer. I will stick to the 5220 as you also suggested.
i had it in mind but your opinion is highly valued.
Respect to Marantz for those VU Meters.
Ferrite head is a plus and overall look so 1970s.
Should i get a pair of VINTAGE speakers too? To complete the system.
PIONEER CL-70 for 40 euros?
or PIONEER HPM-100 for 120 euros?
Any other 1970s nice speakers with wooden cabinets and the proper look?

Docs what is your budget for a marantz 1970s radio receiver?

I personally would leave the speakers for a better more modern one.
I’m keeping my eye out for a 2238B but I’m not looking to spend big, especially when they usually need work.

I can recommend the kef concerto speakers Deech from 1971 but i think they would be serious overkill for this system, they rival my 3 grand monitor audio with ease, they are large speakers though my friend

If you like the Pioneer style speakers, I would suggest the HPM-40, they're much cheaper than the HPM-100. The HPM-100 are overkill for a 2x15W receiver like the 2215.

You got to love marantz one of the few things that Yanks can claim as our own. Is marantz made in California. Oh well if I'm wrong I guess I'll just have to look stupid.

I had a nice marantz Hi-Fi stack at one time my brother brought everything new back in the 80s when he was in the army and then after eons he gave the s*** to me by then you it needed work on the cassette deck and I didn't feel like messing with it.

only ever had a marantz eq lad and it disappointed me but it could have been faulty it also seemed very lightweight for a company like marantz never had any other marantz gear so i guess this might not be fair lad
