Hey there guys and gals, I recently purchased this cool little JVC M50 from Boomboxery member James (Katsa). All is working, but it needed some cleaning and some TLC.
If you look closely you can see the dust build up inside the grills
So I took it all apart and started scrubbing, cleaning, waxing and polishing out scuffs, and polished out all the chrome and the knobs to a nice shine.
James was so kind to provide me with some replacement parts, like speaker grills (which I repainted), a better tuner window that I polished out with PlastX, and a top aluminum trim that was in better shape than the original.
Here's the rusted and dirty original grills
Old top trim and the replacement trim
Old dust
Both speakers cleaned and lightly waxed with "Wizards wax"
After removing the scuffs and scratches from the new tuner window and cassette door window, I contacted Eric (caution) and Norm (Superduper) and asked them for a chrome tuner trim piece for the M90, which fit perfectly on the M50. I just had to trim the length by about an inch. Came out sweet.
And there you have it folks, another clean up
This video was taken before the replacement chrome strip was applied, but here it is with the tape deck in full effect

Big thanks to James for this box, and to Eric and Norm for always coming through with the little extras that make a big difference! Here's my M90 with his little brother M50. Cheers!
