Hello just found this thread! Today one of my customers gave me a Clairtone 7978 as a tip! The right side speaker dont seem to work only crackle when touching the volume knob. Going to take apart this weekend and clean it up a bit!

It might be a little oxidization in the volume pot. Try a little De-oxit in there and it should clear it up.
