Hello to all...For a few weeks I wanted to do a speaker swap in my 767..I not only wanted the speakers to sound good but look good too..I had a few concerns...First off was the transformer issue I needed a speaker that the magnet was not to large for the transformer to clear.. 2nd was the front...

Thought I’d give it a go, as I’d picked up a 777 with trashed speakers center woofers warped with a missing dust cap, Both outer drivers blown, well one was I blew the other, but it was on its way out anyway!. I Picked up a set of Alpine sxe-1725s & sxe-1750s’s for £68 delivered.
Gave it all a clean replaced an Ariel ( if any in has one original Ariel or a pair of speaker grills pls message me ) and fixed one tape deck, other one dead more investigation required, resoldered some dry joints and Bobs your uncle!! One fully working 777 (well apart from one tape deck) and looking and sounding great!. IMO.
Think I’ll try and find some 4 0hm 6.5” subs And give that a go, if any one knows of any.?? As it’s still got more to give!!.

I'm amazed they fit it must weight a tonne! Might want to put big washers on the mounting screws.

No they’ve got plastic chassis so no different, I’ve got to open it back up and secure all the cables and add some dampening as get a lot of vibration at higher volume so will add washers then.

Looks great. Now many expert will think about similar update to see the sound quality.

Question: All there 4 speaker by manufacturer ? or 2 speaker + 2 Tweeters ? . If there were tweeters, you need to fit a tweeter to enjoy the music.

Just did the same myself
