Found strange AIWA

Last time at flea i got this designful AIWA as add to an box:

Including the original remote headphone.
Inside looking clean:

Working? Dont know!
This thing needs an accupack or so.
And an charging station.

Anybody an idea how much volts it need?
Or as anybody an usage for it?

Cool Aiwa, looks like there's some quality in it. Those silly battery packs they used just about ruined their usefullness, pair of double AA's is all they needed. Probably an attempt to make more money by forcing us to by proprietary batteries for insane $$$'s.

Those batteriepacks are sure the reason, why such nice walkys are died out.... :'-(

I think those batteries were used in the ever-escalating " WHO CAN MAKE THE SMALLEST WALKMAN" contest between manufacturers... 2 AA's would have been better, but also increased the size.

without a charger, even finding the batteries is useless...

Although, the battery for that looks very much like the one used in my Digisette.... Is there a plugin to use an AC/DC converter?

That is not a rare one, on ebay they throw you to deadh with ons like that! :'-(
