If anyone is having problems with the power switch. Here is what was wrong with mine. I was having intermediate lights on only when the cassette deck play button was pressed and even that didn't keep the lights on. I had to press the power switch and hold it half way to get it to light up. I had to unsolder the switch from the board, take it apart clean the copper plates that slide back and forth and it seemed to fix the problem. I would probably to do the sleep mode switch as well if cleaning the power switch doesn't work.
