Ordered the 3D printed new gear....the replacement for the infamous, well-known Amber gear that falls apart ....
First problem....after getting everything back together, the play and FF worked great but REW starts fine but slowly slows down and then stops. If I hit stop, and then REW again, it will go fine, then slow down and stop. As many times as I stop and do it again, it will go fast, then slow down and stop.
Ideas?
Second problem....while trying to diagnose this, I removed the gear above the replaced-gear, and forgot to take note of the orientation. I now can't get it back on right. I tried starting with the hole at 12 o'clock and worked my way around but could never get it back to normal (when I spin the gears by hand, it gets to a point where it hits something and won't move...just clicks.
Ideas?
