my trailer park shortcut to make that audio visual emblem ::

1.have somebody here with a GOOD camera email you a hi-rez straight on photo of one
2. have them send you the exact dimensions so you can ' scale ' the photo at staples or etc
3. have staples make you a few prints on hi-end glossy paper with sticky-back
4. get or make a 1/8" piece of wood --shape it to make the outline // border
5. paint it gloss black
6 stick the staples print on it

all done --i have actually done this ( before my eyesight shittte the bed )
looks perfect from a few feet away :-)

Fantastic! I got to hear Jimmy's Discolite during My weekend visit at his place. I too, was impressed with the Disco's sound. I read/heard that it was crappy. When Jimmy played some tunes through it, I believe I said something along the lines as "Damn, that sounds better tha I expected it to - It's good enough for Me!" Hey Chris, Maybe Bredgeo can make some molds of the grill badge. :hmmm: Someone would need to ask him, then ship him theirs - for the betterment of all. btw, AC/DC freakin' rocks! I believe I have approx. 364 of their songs from every album they made up to 2007.

Thanks guys, the best part of it all is sharing it here on BBXY.

This thing is sick. I was rocking it hard last night. Sounds great. I love it.

Now the eBay seller with the handle says it was shipped. might be here today, So I will be opening it up on more time to fit a safer handle.

I need to pick up some new D cells and rock this box on the street!

for swinging it all around on the streets --you might want to have joe make you a 2" wide strap that holds the case bottom & sides
-to keep the strap in place -- use the industrial duty velcro

i know of no handles breaking --have had many of these --but have always been extra gentle when carrying discoltes
bc the handles all feel so weak --
i still say the strap will be more secure than a beefed up handle

Well, I will investigate all options. The new handle is not here yet and im not even sure I can mod it in.

Do you have any pictures of the way you wrap a strap around it?

This radio might only travel cradled like a baby.

Chris:

Thanks for posting so many details about this. I still have hardly touched mine since I picked it up. The tape decks are taped shut, so this will help me when I get looking a little closer at mine.

GREAT JOB ON THE CLEANUP and RESTORE!

Wow. Never saw this. Amazing job. Given me a change of heart about these in fact. I feel in the daylight they have A LOT going on... But when those lights start to dance, the thing is definitely a looker. A thing of beauty.

Great job on the resto! Very impressive.
