in a few weeks --with luck --these gorgeous 9 1/2" white grills should arrive --
thats the easy part

this dual 550 was designed by retro --a while back -
always loved this look-

so --the project is :::
to make an outer case - like this stretched 550 -with the biggie white grills-

for the inside -- i have a skanky// beater 931 - with some very strong bass-
which might sound pretty good in there .
would prefer a beater m70 inside --the top controls will be SOOOO much better for a clean front case design-

anyone want to sell a beater // working m70 ??

any other or better ideas ?
all i will have to start with - are the white grills

will report back here in 1/2 year when/if this actually gets real

while waiting for the white woof grills
and WAITING |-) |-) for the $100 beater m70

here is one possible plan/ mock-up for the corners and frame construction -

the goal is to have a very solid looking // durable case -

but adding no more than 3 pounds = total

A stereo Diablo would be friggin' awesome.

That dual diablo design is absolutely awesome! If JVC would have made something like that in 78-80.....what do you think the pricetag would have been??

as ALL the controls will be on the top panel = M70

size = 28 " x 14 "
woof grills = 10 "

in a short while -
lots of mock-up shots will be posted -

for starters - here is the striped down proportional model --

anybody like / love / hate the matching hardware ??

(the 'real' jvc 550 side bars may be $$ impossible to acquire)

add a tuner and a few meters

last mock-ups -
other than adding chrome trims around the 4 speaker grills and the tuner//meter glass
