The West Coast Boomboxery members proudly invite all Boombox collectors to the 1st annual INTERNATIONAL Blaster Summit, Friday and Saturday September 23rd-24th, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada U.S.A.

Our Goal:

To bring Boombox collectors from far and wide together for the very fist time. International members as well as members from the United States are encouraged to make the pilgrimage to Las Vegas!

Why Las Vegas?

Las Vegas regularly has the cheapest airfares and tons of hotels with cheap prices.

Family Friendly:

Bring the whole family! Wives and Kids are welcome!

Where to stay?

We are currently looking into the possibility of discount rooms in a single hotel on the strip and a possible meeting hall. More details on this to follow. It would be fun to all be in the same hotel, all free to wander, hook up for meals, share radio's in our rooms and come and go as we please ect.

How to move around in Las Vegas:

Almost all hotels have shuttles too and from the airport. Plus there are buses and shuttles that take people up and down the strip. There really isn't a need to rent a car, but your welcome too. The hotels are mini cities with restaurants and stores inside.

Itinerary:

As of right now, we only had two things planned. Collectors to meet Friday night and Saturday night for a photo shoot and BLAST OFF (time TBA), walk the strip and let it all hang out! Saturday night on Fremont street has the most neon in Las Vegas and the perfect back drop for an over the top photo shoot. Breakfast blasts, lunch time blasts, pool side blasts and hotel room blasts are all encouraged! As we get close, these details will tighten up.

Plan Now!

Start the conversation NOW and put $$$ away and you will be there with us!

How to travel with a Boombox?

There are a few threads here on Boomboxery on how to fly with a radio. Here is one

What we ask of you ahead of time:

No Drama! We want to have a good time. Your welcome to invite other collectors that are not from Boomboxery as long as there are no problems. This is all about respect!

LETS DO THIS THING!

FYI, there is a place "in between strips" that is called 18 Block.. It is the designated Art District in Las Vegas.. 18 square blocks of graffiti murals that would make some nice backgrounds for photos! It is between the Stratosphere/Sahara/etc and the Plaza/Fremont Street..

GSBADBMR, I stayed at the Plaza the 2nd time I went to Vegas! Last year I stayed at the Riviera, and there was a UPS store in the lobby of the hotel.. I would almost rather pack up a Blaster and ship it out there, than try lugging a Conion on the plane!

Wife and I stayed at the Riv a few years back, she's closed now, slated for destruction

Funny, do you think Gordie would show up with anything OTHER THAN a Conion?  :hmmm:

Chris, you realize when this goes down it will be the biggest Forcing of Boombox Culture down mainstream society's throats..that it'll make Lyles book a mere pamphlet in The Boombox History of Time!

I sure hope so!

For the fans who collect, the people who we utterly blow away that have never seen them and the old folks who remember and still hate us from the 80's

After looking at those images and the proportions of the walls, my first thought was : wouldn't it just be so cool to have a GINORMOUS BB painted onto a wall?  It wouldn't necessarily have to look too.......'formal' but just be great artwork!

I forgot that there was already a thread on Boomboxery. I could fly to Vegas, but this would be worthy of a rental car, to transport my boxes to help with the line up. I'm definitely planning on attending. I'll talk with the wife and our boys about making it a family event. We love Vegas. I think we should contact local TV & radio stations about this as the time nears for coverage. The Lowrider Car Show promoters might even plug us in somewhere in their event for even more publicity. Just some thoughts. Local media love interesting stories. With a year to plan, I'd love to see some international members able to make it. That would really bring US together.
