Super Jumbo 747J VU Meter issue:

Hello good people,


Ik have a Supertech 747 Super Jumbo with a problem in the vu meter.

One side the left side does not work. Right side does work fine.

Please let me know what i can doe myself.

Or what must be done to fix this isse.

Its about the green/red vu meter in the middle.

I had luck in the past fixing VU meter issues by cleaning the record bar switch with Deoxit FaderLube 5.
There are so many reasons for one VU meter not to work. In some cases it could be stuck. One might have to very carefully free it. In that attempt if you happen to touch those hair springs that can result in permanent damage to it. Gently try to unscrew (15-degree turn) the center screw that is connected to the axis of the VU meter pointer. I've seen cases where the PC board had hairline cracks that caused the malfunction. VU meter at times goes bad too.

I'm pretty sure this is the same boombox as the j1 super jumbo.
It has red led meters above the woofers then multi colored led meters between the tape decks . so is the red colored lights above the woofers working normally on both sides ?.

Yes they work both fine.

The multi colored left side of that meter doesnt work.

I fixt it already dirty switch
