Hi there .

I added a mint RX-DT505 to our collection today. Got it for very cheap money (€60) and it had been sitting in it's original box in the sellers attic for years. It actually sounds pretty decent... not as good as my DT75 but it's not going to compete with the bi-amp models. Im trying to find some details online regarding the 505 but there seems to be very limited info available. I'm trying to understand what year the 505 was released and what model line-up it was part of. I'm guessing it was originally sold as a top of the line to the DT401/501/55 but obviously sat under the cobra/bi-amp models? Guessing the release date was roughly 91/92? If anyone has a link to a Panasonic catalogue with the 505 in it I would appreciate it.

Thanks lupogtiboy. I thought the DT707 series was from 91 and the DT75 was from 94? So looks like the DT505 was from the same class and was the younger brother of the DT707?

That year sounds right to me it was around 91 92 I bought a rxdt 707 off of a buddy of mine and it was brand new he just got tired of it after only having it a few weeks .

I love the 707 . I bought it because I loved the sound and it was the first egg type boombox I ever saw and I thought it was a bad ass boombox and he did let me have it cheap but it cost a lot of money . In all honesty once I showed him I my 90 his head dropped any knew he was defeated immediately that's why he sold me his boom box cuz he felt bad about the one he owed lol.
