Welcome! Does balance have any effect? Not that I have any clue right now but if you give more information other board members might have an idea what causes the problem.

hi,
the volume sliders act as balance, when i move them up it gets even louder, the right channel seems louder at the minimum setting, both sets of leds are bouncing up & down with the sound, just far too loud at minimum setting.....
thanks for your reply

Sliders are shorting. A common problem with these sliders.
The need to be rebuilt by a qualifies technician or replaced.
It has to be at the highest resistance at minimum volume, and opens up to almost zero resistance at full volume. Normally there are at around 50K resistance in many boomboxes.
These sliders need to de soldered, opened up to see what is wrong with it.
