:agree: The box and the leds lookin like doubled trk 7720. Even the speakers look the same but double size :hmmm: . Never see 9100 but use to have 7720 for a long time and it was really good sounding cheapo. And if 9100 have double of all it should be amazing sounding one  .

Ok! I'll need to experience one some day then. It's not my style of box so I won't buy one to see.

I can't get my C100 above about 3/10, even outside, without my ears trying to explode, so I'd shudder to think what this Hitachi is capable of..

There's no way in hell the above Hitachi is as loud as a C100!

I've no idea what this 9100 looks like, but am eager to learn!

:agree:
I can't believe Hitachi made anything that could even come close to the sound pressure the Conion is capable of......... :sadno: :nonono:

Well

I'm not putting down the Conion (perhaps I die without ever seeing one live) and not saying that the Hitachi is better, but after I saw what an egg as my Panasonic cranks, I not disbelieve anything else in this "radio Collector" world.

Cheers.

:agree: Sounds like a VERY late April Fools Day joke to me!

Looks like a mid level box at the most... What's the wattage on that thing?

I have done some test and the Conion wins (thank f..k for that)
conion had a peak db of 124.3 and an ave 117.1
trk9100 had a peak db of 121.9 and an ave 115.3
9494 had a peak db of 117 and an ave 109
777 had a peak of 116 and an ave 109.4
jc 2000 had a peak 117.4 and an ave 112.9
so if a disco robo has an advertised db of 109 and all my reading are similar on the disco robo
this Hitachi is great value for $20-$50 and is not light

so my story ends
with we can not always take thing on face value (it looks shiat there for it must be :nonono: )
so buy up everything u see for one day you mite find a winner

Are you talking about the Hitachi that looks like it was developed for the military with the cylinder type handle on top? Looks more like a tank than a portable stereo.

If you are then I certainly believe you, that thing looks like a powerhouse!

But if you're talking about the one pictured above by Hardmen then consider my gob well and truly smacked.

know i am talking about the middle one
and not the top one wicth mite cost about $100-$150
and not the bottom one witch mite cost $200 -$300
but the little one in the middle wicth will cost you $20-$50
so remember in every egg these's not always an ugly duckling
some times you get the best out of the black egg

all these hitachi's have 3.2 ohm speakers and give very simelar result' s on my tests

Arron and myself once tested some of his boxes and was suprised that the
sharp gf 767 was loauder than the gf 777 and yes the conion was loader than both

so rick get the one of ebay and start to play

Very interesting! She's a nice one.

It's not my scene though, I only collect hi-fi branded threepiecers.

But I look forward to hearing someone elses one day.

What I mean is I only buy threepiecers from hifi brands that didn't make onepiecers. Sansui, Technics, Denon, Yamaha, Marantz, etc etc.

But I've got some very nice Hitachi and Perdisco onepiecers.
