3rd edition 
Isn't the 3rd edition the i931/iPod version which doesn't have a tape deck? I thought there were just two prior versions easily identified by their number of antennae: the MK I with two antennas, and the MK II with one antenna.
I'm new to boomboxing (is that even a word?) so I may be completely wrong.

Also the 1st edition had dual antenna, the 2nd had both single and dual antennas available and the 3rd had only a single antenna=ml= said:3rd edition

I haven't opened the 931, so I don't know how tight the space is inside. Probably not tight at all, but I don't want to strip the threads by opening/closing it too many times.

As for lower deck it will help too but you can get to belts as soon as you remove rear cover

Glad I found this topic! Tape A works perfect in my Lasonic, and Tape B used to.. but I just pulled a belt out tonight that was broken, it's 16" long!
My Second edition's top deck plays perfect but, the bottom deck slows to a stop right away with a tape in it.
